COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Columbus Consolidated Government is putting $3 million in local funding towards a program aimed to support low-income households with home repairs.

Those living at or below the 80% of the median income level in Columbus are eligible to apply for the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Home Owner Accessibility Rehabilitation program. Pre-qualification applications open online on Monday, June 3, 2024.

This program intends to help some of the more vulnerable members of our community.

“We understand the difficulties that many of our community members are facing,” stated Robert Scott, Director of the Community Reinvestment. “With the Homeowner Accessibility Rehabilitation Program, we aim to provide relief to those who need it the most. The development of this program underscores the City’s commitment to the preservation of housing for our most vulnerable residents.”

An information session is being held on Tuesday, May 28 in the council chambers at the Citizen’s Service Center. The time has yet to be determined.
