FORT MOORE, Ga. (WRBL) — A construction project on Fort Moore begins early next month, according to the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence.

Workers will be installing an active vehicle barrier system at Plumley Access Control Point 3, the Fort Moore main gate, on Lindsey Creek Pkwy/I-185.

Phase one starts June 6 with the closure of the ramp from I-185-South onto Custer Road. That first phase should be complete on about June 28, but additional phases are to follow.

The details on those future phases will be released as it gets closer to construction time.

Once all is done, the barrier system should allow post security to “quickly control in and outbound traffic as needed to help manage access and secure the installation.”
