    Two hospitalized in South Memphis shooting

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were shot and critically injured Thursday in South Memphis.

    Officers responded just before noon to a grocery store at Mallory Avenue and Florida Street, where they found a male victim with a gunshot wound.

    Minutes later a female victim with a gunshot wound drove to a fire station on South Parkway for help.

    MPD officer run over by stolen vehicle, police say; 1 detained

    Both victims were taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

    Police believe both scenes are connected.
