MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday, so it’s time to take a look at several events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend!

Elvis Week kicks off Friday. This is an event that brings people from all over the world right here to Memphis. There are lots of other ways you can celebrate the King of Rock and Roll. Enjoy everything from special tours of Graceland to seeing where he was born in Tupelo. Events run through August 17.

Girl Scouts will be hosting a National S’mores Day event at Shelby Farms Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All girls age five to 12 and their families are invited to join the fun. There will be crafts, games, and a campfire to roast marshmallows.

This Saturday is also the Memphis Chicken and Beer Festival . It’s from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. General admission is $42. Portions of the benefits go to Merge Memphis.

All this weekend the Memphis Redbirds take on the Gwinnett Stripers here at home. Saturday night’s game is a night devoted to celebrating Memphis’s longest-lasting Negro League team. The team will play as the black-owned Memphis Red Sox, which is one of the founding members of the negro american league. The first 1,500 fans will get a Memphis Red Sox Tumbler.

Sunday night you can end the weekend enjoying a free family-friendly jazz concert . This is at Court Square on North Main Street. The concert is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
