MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The YMCA is teaming up with Fayette County Public Schools to offer before- and afterschool care for students this school year.

YCare before school care will be offered at Oakland, but FCPS says the before care program could be extended to other locations depending on parent interest.

YCare afterschool care will be offered at Buckley-Carpenter, LaGrange-Moscow, Oakland, Southwest, and West Junior High.

Fayette County parents concerned about loss of programs before and after school

According to FCPS Superintendent Dr. Versie Hamlett, East Junior High School is currently offering LEAP after school care. Parents can ask the office for a registration packet.

This comes after the district announced earlier this month that several schools in the county would not be offering afterschool programs this year because the district was allegedly denied a grant for the program.
