MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man held up at gunpoint at his East Memphis home told police one of the robbers had been welcomed into his house many times before.

Police said the robber, identified as Tyler Bell, 21, and two others ambushed the victim at his home on Leatherwood on June 26. The victim said Bell, who went to school with his son, forced him inside, put a gun to his head, and went through his pockets.

The victim said the robbers took a $24,000 Cartier watch, a $15,000 diamond necklace, a $6,000 designer ring, nearly $1,400 in cash, and the keys to his vehicles.

The homeowner said he ran after the robbers, and one of them turned around and fired two shots at him. It does not appear he was hit.

The victim picked Bell out of a photo line-up, and he was arrested and booked in the Shelby County Jail on Thursday.
