    Woman, 16-year-old arrested for carjacking in South Memphis: MPD

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people, including a juvenile, are facing multiple charges after police say they carjacked a man at gunpoint on Elvis Presley Boulevard Sunday morning.

    According to reports, officers responded to the Marathon Gas Station at 2260 Elvis Presley around 9:30 a.m., where they were advised that a man had been carjacked.

    Police say the man was pumping gas when he was approached by a man and woman armed with a rifle. They allegedly went through the man’s pockets, took his keys, and fled the scene in his 2008 Jeep Liberty.

    Just before 6 p.m. the same day, officers saw the Jeep leaving the parking lot of a store on North Watkins in Frayser.

    Reports say police followed the man and woman, who occupied the car, into a neighborhood and onto Kensett Street. With the help of the K9 unit, officers searched the area and found the suspects in a storage shed on Hallbrook Street.

    The suspects were identified as Asia Shell, 21, and a 16-year-old juvenile.

    Police say Shell lied to investigators about her identity. At the time of her arrest, she had two warrants for theft of property $1,000 or less.

    Shell was charged with carjacking, aggravated robbery, evading arrest on foot, criminal impersonation, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

    The 16-year-old was charged with carjacking, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest on foot.
