WWE RAW Preview (8/12/24)

It’s almost time for WWE RAW !

WWE will bring its flagship show to the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, on August 12. Superstars advertised for tonight’s show include CM Punk, Damian Priest, Jey Uso, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and Drew McIntyre.

Here’s what’s on tap for the August 12 episode of WWE RAW.

Rhea Ripley to kick off WWE RAW

Rhea Ripley suffered two significant setbacks at WWE SummerSlam 2024. “Mami” both failed to beat Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship and lost her “Latino Heat” to her bitter rival.

Ripley was out for brutality the following Monday but she couldn’t get her hands on Liv for long, as Mysterio made the save. Tonight, the former Women’s World Champion will kick off all the action, surely eager to get some revenge. It remains to be seen what Rhea Ripley will have to say on RAW.

Damian Priest vs. Carlito

Rhea Ripley wasn’t the only one to get betrayed by the Judgment Day at WWE SummerSlam. Mami’s “Terror Twin” Damian Priest was betrayed by Finn Balor during his World Heavyweight Championship defense against Gunther.

A livid Priest clashed with the new Judgment Day on RAW the following week. Ripley helped him when the group ganged up on the former world champion. Tonight, the “Archer of Infamy” takes on former stablemate Carlito in singles action.

Damage CTRL vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark – WWE Women’s Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Match

Damage CTRL started feuding with Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville weeks ago on WWE RAW. The bad blood heated up after Baszler, Deville, and Stark attacked Dakota Kai backstage last week.

Fans will see Kairi Sane and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL take on Baszler and Stark in tag team action tonight. The winner will earn the opportunity to face WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn for their titles.

Odyssey Jones to appear on WWE RAW

Odyssey Jones made a huge impact on RAW after SummerSlam. The big man flattened Karrion Kross before effortlessly slamming both Akam and Rezar to the mat. This marked Jones’ RAW debut after he was drafted in both 2023 and 2024.

The NXT Breakout finalist then confirmed his allegiance to The New Day during a backstage segment featuring Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

Jones returns to the red brand tonight to reveal his course of action.

American Made vs. Alpha Academy

Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers made their official RAW in-ring debut as American Made last Monday. The trio failed to beat Gacy, Lumis and Harper in the main event, as the Wyatt Sicks stood tall.

Tonight, American Made resume their feud with Alpha Academy when the Creeds take on Otis and Tozawa in tag team action.

Randy Orton to appear

Randy Orton made his presence known on RAW last week.

“The Viper” interrupted Gunther’s promo to demand a title match at WWE Bash in Berlin. Orton referenced the Ring General’s controversial win back in Saudi Arabia.

Gunther accepted Orton’s challenge, and the bout was confirmed. WWE then announced that the former 14-time World Champion will be on WWE RAW in Austin, Texas.

Intercontinental Title 2-Out-of-3 Falls match on WWE RAW

Fans will also get a rare Two-out-of-Three Falls match on weekly television.

Sami Zayn will run it back with Bron Breakker, the man who pinned him for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam 2024.

Bron Breakker put Zayn away with a brutal spear to win his first title on the main roster. The following RAW saw Ilja Dragunov motivate Zayn to challenge Breakker for the title.

The feud is set to come to a head in a Two-out-of-Three Falls match on Monday Night RAW.
