HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The lovely 11-month-old Adalynd Lu Toler of Halifax County will represent Virginia in the Baby Miss USA National Pageant.

According to a Baby Miss USA Pageant spokesperson, Adalynd beat out over 1,000 other Virginia darlings, selected for her “exceptional natural beauty and charisma.”

Adalynd and others will be judged during the pageant on natural beauty, personality, smile and themed attire, according to the spokesperson.

The pageant, which will take place from March 15 to 17 in Orlando, Florida, will reportedly feature contestants from all across America, participating in events such as the Minnie Mouse Competition, the Pink Western Wear segment to increase awareness of breast cancer in young mothers, the Pink Party Dress Ballgown showcase and the Project Back the Blue competition.

The founder and national director of the pageant, Sammi Savoie, added the Back the Blue competition to the lineup to “honor and support local police departments while teaching children the importance of respecting and appreciating the sacrifice of police officers who serve and protect their communities.”

Adalynd and her family seem to agree with that sentiment, as Adalynd spends time with and gives back to various law enforcement agencies across the state. The Tolers have handed out treats and letters of gratitude to local officers, sharing their and the community’s gratitude for their service.

Savoie told 8News that many contestants do the same thing in their home states, bringing so much joy to officers across America. She shared a story of an officer going out of their way to purchase some accessories for a contestant in their state.

The Baby Miss USA Pageant also hosts other community initiatives. Contestants brighten the day of those in nursing homes and assisted living centers through Project Grandma, as well as bring joy to children’s hospitals with The Princess Project.

The ultimate goal is to have a positive impact on the future of American communities “one family at a time.”

“The pageant experience not only celebrates America’s Most Beautiful Babies but also instills essential life skills such as good manners, etiquette, respect for authority, and gratitude,” the spokesperson said.
