SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Students at Sussex County Public Schools will have an asynchronous learning day on Monday, April 8, due to the solar eclipse.

According to a spokesperson for the school system, the asynchronous learning day is “due to the safety risks associated with the solar eclipse.”

The spokesperson said there is a risk of eye damage if students look at the sun during the partial eclipse.

This comes alongside Chesterfield County Public Schools dismissing school early on the day of the eclipse.
