    Nearly 2,000 Dominion Energy customers without power due to storms

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Nearly 2,000 Dominion Energy customers are without power in the Richmond region as storms roll through central Virginia Monday evening.

    The evening of Monday, Aug. 26, thunderstorms hit the Central Virginia area, knocking out power for many Dominion Energy customers.

    Here’s a breakdown of who is without power as of 8:30 p.m. Monday:

    • Henrico County: 1,056 customers
    • Charles City County: 353 customers
    • Chesterfield County: 282 customers
    • Goochland County: 35 customers
    • Hanover County: 8 customers

    A total of 3,361 Virginia customers are without power as of 8:30 p.m. Monday,

    At the initial height of the outage around 6:30 p.m., 8,404 Virginia customers were without power — with the majority of them being Richmond-area buildings.
