Wright County Sheriff by the numbers:

From May 27-June 3, there were 31 property-damage accidents, two personal injury accidents, four hit-and-run accidents, seven car-vs-deer accidents, 13 DWI arrests, eight for underage consumption, six school bus stop arm violations and 134 miscellaneous traffic violations reported.

Wright County Attorney’s Office court sentences:

    • Brandon Ralph Guertin, 23, of Monticello, was sentenced on May 29 in two separate cases. In the first case, he was sentenced to a stay of imposition, three-years probation, 60 days jail, and fined $300 for fifth-degree drug possession of a Schedule 1, 2, 3, 4 drug. In the second case, he was sentenced to 60 days jail for a probation violation for fifth-degree drug possession of a Schedule 1, 2, 3, 4 drug.

    DNR Conservation Officer’s Report:

    • CO Trent Seamans (Big Lake) patrolled for anglers and boaters. Additional time was spent handling miscellaneous wildlife-related calls. Enforcement action was taken for fishing without a license, fishing with extra lines, and giving a false date of birth to a peace officer.

    • CO Brett Fox (St. Cloud) spent the week patrolling for ATV, angling and watercraft activity. Fox also assisted neighboring officers with investigations. Violations this week include failure to remove drain plug from a boat, no type IV throwable floatation device on boat and watercraft registration issues.

    • CO Adam Stennett (Annandale) worked the station for boating and ATV activity. The weather put a damper on the normally very busy holiday weekend. An investigation into an abandoned camper at the Lake John public water access was completed. Stennett located the last owner and found they abandoned the camper at the access because they “just didn’t want it anymore.” Enforcement action was taken for the violation. Stennett also assisted with a training day at Camp Ripley. Other enforcement for the week included boat registration, open burning violations, operating ATV without headlights displayed and ATV registration.
