However, the investigation into this tragic incident has raised many questions. Claremont Police Department officers responded to the 1500 block of Mural Drive at 7:27 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about car in the middle of the street. They located the vehicle’s owner, Walter Folgar, 40, of Montclair, a short distance away. Police say Folgar was acting erratically and displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search allegedly yielded methamphetamine, and he was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was booked at the CPD and released with citations to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
