California Deputy Dies from Methamphetamine Effects While on Duty
Jonathan Stewart died from the effects of methamphetamine on April 27, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner. The report labeled his death an accident. The City of Rancho Cucamonga Traffic Division investigates traffic collisions, directs traffic when needed, and develops driver awareness of traffic laws and the causes of traffic collisions. However, the investigation into this tragic incident has raised many questions. A sheriff’s representative could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday about how Stewart died, whether the sheriff’s department had any concerns before he died that he may have been using drugs, or whether and how often the department tests its employees for drugs.

Gavin Newsom signed AB 2927, which requires a semester-long personal finance education course to graduate.
