Nyberg: Dave Brubeck collection features exclusive recordings from jazz legend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Late American jazz musician and composer Dave Brubeck is having his work memorialized at the Wilton Library with a collection curated by Michael Bellacosa.

Alongside Brubeck’s son, Chris, the pair know how much the leader of The Dave Brubeck Quartet, which performed around the world during the 1950s and 1960s, meant to the industry.

“Our mother really was someone who believed that Dave was going to be an important musical historical figure. And so she really saved just tons of paperwork, reviews, programs, tour schedules,” Chris said.

The collection also includes hundreds of exclusive recordings that the public can listen to.
