MONROE COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — It’s neighbors helping neighbors in Monroe County, Ohio, after a devastating tornado tore through many parts of the county.
The cleanup continues in Monroe County just weeks after a disastrous tornado left citizens overwhelmed with property damage.
Luckily, one local company is offering its services to people affected free of charge.
TTA Services, an excavation business in Monroe County, has stepped up and is doing whatever it can to help with the extensive cleanup.
The owner of the company, Tyler Abbott, shares what help they provided today for a family that saw the twister tear apart their property.
”This barn, it was ripped off. It got ripped down. There’s another barn over here, where they’re going to try to salvage it. But there’s tin everywhere. The house has been ripped up, but we’re just trying to get stuff cleaned up so they can rebuild.”

The damage the tornado caused is substantial, and Abbott says without the help of others, he and his team would have been in a tough spot.
”Obviously, there’s so much damage done here. Not one single person can clean it all up in one. So, I mean, there’s been a lot of volunteers out here. Everybody needs to come together at this time and everybody is.”

He says helping his neighbors when times are tough is something that he feels is necessary.
”It’s a great thing. We live here, my kids go to school here, and like I say, it’s just a community thing. And I feel great that we can just do our part and kick in.”

Fortunately for the citizens in the county, their community is one that sticks together in times of need.
It’s a great thing. I mean, people have reached out and they said they were willing to help. They came out and helped. And you can just see that everybody bonds together around here in Monroe County.”

As of now, progress is being made, but there is still a lot of rebuilding to be done.
