WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – If you’re looking to step into a ‘Wizarding World’ based off the well-known tale of ‘the boy who lived,’ then “Puffs” at West Liberty University has you covered.

The West Liberty University Hilltop Players are following the loveable losers’ perspective, otherwise known as the “Puffs,” throughout seven eventful years that everyone knows.

The cast is full of names that have appeared in J.K. Rowling’s books and movies at the Mystery School of Magic and Wizardry, while following the story of Wayne Hopkins.

”They’re actually canonical in the universe, which is pretty cool. And there’s a lot of inside jokes, too, that people that watch the movies or read the books, we totally understand. Like we joke about Serious Black at one point, but that’s all I’ll say about that.”

Roman Hicks – “Wayne Hopkins,” Puffs

”If you liked the original movie series and enjoy comedy, this is a wonderful opportunity to revisit some of the storylines, and it’s the funniest play on paper that I’ve ever done. I’ve been doing this for 25 years.”

Michael Aulick – Professor/Director of Theater, West Liberty University

You can watch “Puffs” at the Kelly Theater at West Liberty University on April 4 th , 5 th , 11 th , 12 th , and 13 th at 7:30pm.

They do want to preface that there is strong language throughout the show, but on April 5 th and April 14 th they are performing the “Young Wizards Production” suitable for younger audiences.
