OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – May has finally arrived, and Wheeling Park High School’s greenhouse is officially open for business.

The school’s agriculture program has been hard at work for months and now is your chance to buy some fabulous foliage.

They have hanging baskets, 4 and a half inch pots with individual flowers, tomatoes, peppers, vegetables and much more.

Today’s great weather brought the crowds out in droves to the sale, and we’re told they sold nearly 500 hanging pots on the first day.

“We had individual plants come in from Latin America, South America. They were overnighted and then we took about 6 or 7 different classes, all in 1 day to get as many of those planted as we could. There’s about 20,000 individual plants in the greenhouse that we had to put together.”

Ethan Bloomfield – Ag Teacher at Wheeling Park High School

“It’s a lot of fun, especially if you love working, like a person like me, I love working, and so I get to work in the greenhouse a lot.”

Jamie Lynn Antill – Wheeling Park High School Sophomore

The greenhouse is open Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm, behind Wheeling Park High School.
