Orrick commissions murals from 3 local artists

Wheeling, W.Va. (WTRF) – Orrick in downtown Wheeling have brightened up their office by adding 3 brand new murals from local artists.

Orrick commissioned 3 local artists to create murals for their newly redesigned lobby, with a focus on how each view the Friendly City and Orrick’s operations.

The three artists are Amanda Carney, Mindi Yarbrough and Vondel Bell.

Each artist had a good amount of creative freedom, and spent several weeks prepping and designing the pieces, including meetings with Orrick officials.

“Any time we have anyone come in to our front door they see the talent in Wheeling, West Virginia, from these local artists. And you can see it’s pretty evident how amazing they are. So we’re very proud, we’re excited for people to come in and enjoy the artwork with us.”

“When I came up with mine, I wanted something with a personal touch to it, but it’s so hard to illustrate a human being without actually illustrating a human being, which is why I put my hands in there.”

“You can’t really have innovation without creativity and imagination, so I wanted to do something really fun and inspiring and uplifting, just to evoke and engage people and help them be more creative.”

“This art piece is an art piece that just brings out creativity…I just like the colors, man. I’m an artist, man. So I just love the colors, the way it just pops.”

The event also featured charcuterie boards provided by Table 304.
