17th Annual Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour draws cyclists from across the country for Ogden Wellness Weekend

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — After a day filled with runners and walkers on Saturday it was the cyclist’s turn to join in on Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend.

The 17th Annual Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour took off today as people from all over the country came out to ride through the Ohio Valley.

The event is a non-competitive one that allows cyclists to ride a 100K, 50K, or 15K route to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of Memorial Day Weekend.

The tour director shared the one thing he loved most about the event.

What we love about today is it’s a great day to ride your bike on the river and that’s what we tell folks and folks of all ages come out. So we have families that are coming out with kids in their pull behind as well as we have cyclists that ride and race all over the United States come out. It’s family friendly, everybody enjoys the event and we really appreciate the support of the community.”

Adams says that they are always thrilled to host an event that allows cyclists to join in on the fun during Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend.
