Garmong Construction helps spruce up Terre Haute for spring

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As the temperatures warm up and we move ever closer to the summer season, Terre Haute is doing some spring cleaning.

On Friday, Downtown Terre Haute partnered with Garmong Construction to spruce up the area.

Josh Alsip with the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce said crews were pulling weeds, picking up trash, and planting flowers in an effort to beautify the downtown area and make it welcoming for both residents and visitors.

“Every downtown should be welcoming,” Alsip said.

“It’s an opportunity to give back, to do something positive for our community,” Garmong Construction Regional Manager Mike Peterson said.

Alsip added that anyone who is interested in being involved in a future downtown cleanup can do so by reaching out to the Downtown Terre Haute organization.

The flowers that were planted will reportedly begin to bloom just in time for high school graduations in the area.
