TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Rose-Hulman Fightin’ Engineers football team enters 2024 with a lot of motivation.

Rose-Hulman is coming off a 7-3 season in 2023 in which they lost the HCAC championship game for the second consecutive season.

Head Coach Jeff Sokol says that getting back and winning the conference title for the first time since 2021 is the main thing motivating this year’s squad.

“We’ve lost our conference championship game two years in a row so when you’re playing that last week for a championship, you’re obviously having success and excited to be there, but it stings to lose that game two years in a row, and it’s definitely been motivation for the returners to make sure that we can change that outcome this year,” Sokol says.

The Fightin’ Engineers open the season September 7th at Depauw.
