Project Never Broken holds first “Party with a Purpose” event

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Tonight at The Main Event in Terre Haute, Project Never Broken held their first “Party with a Purpose” event.

This was a fundraiser for their organization.

Project Never Broken is a non-profit that was started to honor and memorialize officer Greg Ferency. He was tragically killed in the line of duty on July 7th, 2021.

The founder and executive director of the organization says this gives the community a way to support law enforcement.

The purpose is to celebrate and show support and appreciation for those still serving our communities in law enforcement. It’s really meant to bring people together, the community, so they have a way to show their support for law enforcement, first responders, military.

Inside The Main Event Saturday, guests could listen to speakers, bid in a silent auction, and enjoy food and drinks.

Klingerman says each speaker has something in common.

“We have a comedian that’s coming, we have Dog the Bounty Hunter, and we have Jason Schechterle. What threads them all together is the law enforcement component of their backgrounds.”

Dog the Bounty Hunter is a television series and nickname given to Duane Chapman. He was the first speaker of the night at “Party with a Purpose”, and shared with the audience how a police officer changed his life.

This cop said listen to me man, you’re going to be something someday. Right now, Dog, you’re convicted of murder. It doesn’t matter. You’re going to be something. I’m going to pray with you.

All money raised from “Party with a Purpose” will go to Project Never Broken to support local law enforcement.
