1 dead, 2 arrested after triple shooting and standoff at Detroit home overnight

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people are in custody, and one person is dead, following a triple shooting on Detroit's east side overnight.

Authorities said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday at a home on Hazelridge St., in the area of Gratiot Ave. and McNichols.

When responding officers arrived on the scene, they declared a barricaded gunman situation.

A standoff at the home spanned a few hours until officers were able to take two suspects into custody.

As for the victims, WXYZ-TV reported that three men were shot, with one of those men dying. It's unclear at this time what led up to the gunfire.

There is no information at this time about the two suspects who were arrested, as they await expected charges in the case.

The DPD's Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
