    Police say missing 12-year-old boy who jumped out of mom's car in Detroit has been recovered

    DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police say a preteen boy who disappeared on Detroit's west side over the weekend is back home safe.

    According the Detroit Police Department on Monday, 12-year-old George Wooten went missing after he jumped out of his mother's car while it was at a stop in the 17200 block of W. McNichols on Sunday.

    He ran off, and his mom wasn't able to find him.

    Tuesday morning, the DPD sent an update stating that the child was recovered. It's unclear where he'd been, as no further information was provided.
