    Western Mass. home sales average $40,000 more in March

    CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley has released its March housing market report.

    Home closings have decreased since last year, but they’re still selling for more money than last March. The median sale price for homes was $335,000, which is 13.6% higher than last year of $295,000.

    There were 272 homes sold in March this year, which is down 12% over March 2023. The inventory of available homes for sale in March was down 38.1% with 361 on the market versus 583 homes in March 2023.

    The average time on the market is down by 15.3% year-over-year, averaging 53 days.

    There are currently 142 houses for sale in Hampden County under $335,000 according to Zillow .
