Juventus would be a smart move for Jaden Sancho

Jaden Sancho has yet to feature for Manchester United this season. The England international hasn't even made Erik ten Hag's bench for the opening two games of the season, despite the coach stating his issues with the winger are a thing of the past. Yet, Sancho could be heading for the Old Trafford exit door.

According to Matteo Moretto, reporting in "Fabrizio Romano's Daily Briefing," Juventus' Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli sees Sancho as the perfect conclusion to the team's transfer window. A move to Juventus would likely be a loan, similar to his move to Dortmund midway through last season.

"Juventus are working on a loan for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. It's definitely a possibility," Moretto reported. "It is not an easy deal to get done though, but Juventus' Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli wants to complete the transfer window and the squad by bringing in Sancho...Negotiations with Manchester United for Sancho are ongoing."

Moretto's report isn't the only one linking Sancho with a move to the Bianconeri. The Daily Mail's Michael Pavitt has also reported the Italian team's interest while noting the loan could potentially have a $52.7 million obligation to buy for next season.

"Juventus have been weighing up a loan move for Sancho, which could have also included an obligation to buy the winger for £40million," Pavitt reported.

Sancho has consistently failed to replicate the form that saw United pay Dortmund $96.2 million for his services in 2021. During his two seasons with the club, he has contributed nine Premier League goals and six assists, which is a far cry from the production we saw from him during his time in the Bundesliga.

A move to Juventus would provide Sancho with another fresh start. His style of play could be suited to Serie A, where he would have more time on the ball and be able to probe defenses with his direct running on the wing.

Ten Hag's vision for United clearly doesn't include Sancho as a central part of the puzzle. At 24 years old, he needs to play week in and week out if he wants to continue improving and fighting for a place in the England squad.

If United can secure an obligatory fee from Juventus, cutting ties with Sancho could be best for everyone involved. There's still plenty of time in the transfer window to get a deal over the line, although it may go down to the wire.
