    Tyler Huntley.

After keeping four quarterbacks (Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, Tyler Huntley and Dorian Thompson-Robinson) on their initial 53-man roster, the Browns decided to move on from one of them on Thursday.

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Cleveland is releasing former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley, who signed with the team in March.

With the extra spot, the Browns are re-signing running back D’Onta Foreman, who was cut on Tuesday, to the 53-man roster, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Some believed that Cleveland was attempting to trade Huntley but that will remain an option until his release is official.

It was a difficult decision for the Browns, but Huntley should land with another team sooner rather than later. It could very likely be the team he began his NFL career with, the Baltimore Ravens.

Huntley spent the first four years (2020-2023) of his NFL career in Baltimore. As Lamar Jackson's backup, he passed for 1,957 yards and eight touchdowns while also rushing for 509 yards and three touchdowns in 20 games.

The 26-year-old even earned Pro Bowl honors in 2022 after helping the Ravens make the playoffs as Jackson was sidelined with an injury. They eventually lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the wild-card round, but Huntley was added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster due to other players dropping out or declining invitations.

Baltimore thought it had lost Huntley this offseason without a lot of cap space, but that no longer must be the case. Journeyman Josh Johnson is the only quarterback on the Ravens' 53-man roster outside of Jackson, which paves the way for a reunion with Huntley.

Jackson has battled injuries throughout his six-year NFL career, playing in just 12 games during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. That's why reuniting with Huntley seems almost inevitable.
