FREE Dog Adoption Event This Weekend Featuring Nine Tampa Bay Animal Shelters: Hundreds Of Animals

Starting Friday, May 17th, Pasco County Animal Services will join with eight other local animal shelters at the Strawberry Festival Fairgrounds for a free Mega Adoption Event. Local shelters are looking to place hundreds of amazing adoptable canines during the event this weekend, from 10am to 5 p.m. In addition to Pasco County, available dogs will come from shelters in Hernando, Polk, Orange, Sumter, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, and Marion counties, creating a diverse selection of more than 300 adoption-ready dogs each day. "We're ecstatic to be coming back to such a thrilling event," PCAS Director Mike Shumate adds. "This is a fantastic chance to get to know our adoptable animals from the Tampa Bay area and beyond—and to discover the ideal family member!"

Every single dog will be microchipped, vaccinated, and sterilized (spayed or neutered). Adoption fees are paid for by amazing sponsors like Friends of Animal Services (both PCAS and OCAS), Hillsborough Pet Resources Foundation, the Florida Strawberry Festival, Team Godwin Foundation, and more.

This event will be busy, and trying to place the perfect person(s) with the perfect pup(s) can, and will, be a little frantic at times. These shelters work INCREDIBLY hard to get ready for these events and to make sure the animals in their care get the forever home they deserve. Please don't plan to attend if you cannot commit to a lifetime of love, treats, and snoot boops.
