LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Fewer people are dying from drugs in Michigan, according to a Q1 report by the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology Services. UM Health-Sparrow released its quarter one (Q1) report on drug-related deaths in seven counties, including Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Livingston, and Shiawassee, in which it serves as medical examiner.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo man who pleaded guilty to the abuse of his child—including admitting to squeezing the child's head and throwing him—was sentenced Monday. Paul Preston was charged with five counts of first-degree child abuse dating back to 2023.
