ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new era for the University of New Mexico’s men’s tennis team is underway. The school announced the hiring of Rob Bareford on Friday.

Bareford comes to UNM most recently from Montana State. His resume includes six total years as a head coach between MSU (2022-2014) and Radford (2018-2022). He has a 62-37 career record (.626) and two conference titles.

“We are excited to have Rob join the Lobo Family,” said UNM athletic director Eddie Nuñez. “He brings a history of success and developing student-athletes, and he has done a great job of building programs.”

Bareford replaces Chris Russell who retired earlier this month after three seasons at UNM.
