ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man with a felony warrant for selling fentanyl pills was arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday. According to police, in February, Heng Zhang tried to walk out of the Dank Smoke Shop and Grocery Store in southeast Albuquerque after eating an ice cream bar and not paying for it.

When Albuquerque Police Department officers searched the man to see if he stole anything else, they found 536 fentanyl pills in his pocket. Zhang was issued a felony warrant stemming from charges of intending to distribute a controlled substance and shoplifting. He had a court hearing in March but failed to show up.

Wednesday, Zhang was pulled over during a traffic stop for speeding and was booked into jail for that felony warrant.
