That includes a road in Baytown that buckled, apparently from the heat. Samantha K. shared video that showed a big issue with Highway 146 near Main Street.
Harris County Fourth of July 'no refusal' DWI initiative announced
HOUSTON - Harris County officials are cracking down on impaired driving over the Fourth of July holiday by conducting "no refusal" enforcement. There will be extra patrols on the streets as well as waterways, and dozens of agencies will be out working alongside the Harris County District Attorney’s office to obtain blood warrants much faster for those suspected of driving drunk.

Following her arrest on a driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge, Johnson appeared in court today to face the consequences of her actions. As reported by KPRC 2, the 178th Criminal District Court presiding judge was arrested after being pulled over by a Houston Police Department officer on June 25 and was tasked to sign her bond conditions in the latest proceedings.
Mobile to base homeless outreach initiative on successful Houston strategy
MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The city of Mobile created its first homeless outreach coordinator position and launched a team that will work with homeless people to get them the services and shelter they need. The city is basing this new initiative on the Harris County Sheriff's Office homeless outreach team in Texas. Deputies assigned to that team meet and build a rapport with people living on the streets in the Houston area.
Houston's METRO Announces Special July 4 Schedules, Park & Ride Services Closed
As Houston gears up to celebrate Independence Day, Harris County's METRO is rolling out a special schedule for the holiday. According to the Houston Chronicle, METRO services including local buses, METRORail, METRORapid, and METRO curb2curb will observe Sunday schedules on July 4. However, services such as Park & Ride will not be in operation.
