Woman arrested for assaulting a constable deputy
HOUSTON, Texas - A woman was arrested after allegedly assaulting a constable deputy during a disturbance on July 20, 2024.Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to a disturbance in the 15000 block of Philippine Street. Upon arrival, the female suspect became combative and refused all verbal commands, according to a press release from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4. While attempting to detain her, she physically resisted and assaulted the deputy, causing pain and visible injury.After a brief struggle, the deputy utilized her department-issued Taser to safely detain the suspect, identified as Mayra Rupert. "Mayra Rupert was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Assault on Peace Officer. Her bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 176th District Court," stated Constable Mark Herman.
