BEVERLY - Playing at Lakeside Golf Course in Beverly on August 19, the Athens' girls golf team remained undefeated after a match hosted by Waterford. The Bulldogs outshot second place Vinton County by seven strokes to secure the victory.

Two Athens County student-athletes who consistently find themselves atop the leaderboard on the course, Athens' Ellie Beck-Aden and Federal Hocking's Addison Jackson shined once again. The two juniors co-medaled the event by each shooting a 35.

Joining Beck-Aden for the league-leading Athens squad, Fern Sigman placed third individually with a score of 45. Vera Kiryukhin (54), Mia Szewczyk (67) and Maelle Newton (68) also competed for the Bulldogs.

Aside from Jackson's performance, Federal Hocking did enough to earn third place in the event with Elizabeth Boyd (54), Maddie Hines (59), Maggie Kneier (60), Estelle Ripple (63) and Cora Kneier (68) also competing.

Alexander placed fifth overall with Abby Mansfield's 55 leading the way for the Spartans. Kaitlynn Green (59), Reagan Wandling (59), Greta Meyer (60), Lacey Doering (64) and Olivia Burton (66) competed as well.

Trimble sent just one golfer to the event but Braylee Richards shined in her solo competition. The freshman placed fifth individually with a score of 48.
