Michigan football is the reining champions, yet are embroiled in scandal involving their former and current head coach, the latter of which is in hot water over deleted text messages.

Sherrone Moore led Michigan in several games last season when Jim Harbaugh was unavailable thanks to suspensions over NCAA rules violations, and did a good enough job to earn the promotion to head coach when Harbaugh bolted for the Chargers. But now, even he is caught up in the sign stealing scandal over some allegedly deleted text messages.

At a press conference Tuesday, Moore spoke on the text messages (or lack thereof) and issued seven simple words on the subject:

"All I can say is... I look forward to them being released ," he said, according to Michigan reporter Anthony Broome.

The NCAA alerted Moore of a Level II charge against him stemming from the deleted text messages with Connor Stalions, who earned a Level I charge himself as part of the notice, according to sources with The Athletic .

Pete Thamel spoke on the ESPN "College GameDay Podcast" and calmed the nerves of Michigan fans by noting that he doesn't expect a terribly long suspension for Moore, if he gets one at all.

“As a Level II, I would think ultimately that gets distilled to a short suspension of some kind,” Thamel said. “It could be no suspension, it could be a short suspension."

Either way, Moore is unlikely to miss a major chunk of time, and he appears confident the NCAA won't unearth anything troubling with the text messages.
