Bills' Josh Allen Hails 'Unreal Ability' Of WR Keon Coleman

The Buffalo Bills hope rookie receiver Keon Coleman can develop into Josh Allen's No. 1 weapon in 2024, and through his first preseason, Coleman appears to be well on his way.

While yes, there will be ups and downs that accompany any rookie in the NFL, but Coleman appears to be doing more good than bad thus far as a member of Joe Brady's offense.

Coleman only managed one catch for eight yards in Buffalo's 33-6 loss to the Chicago Bears in its first preseason game, but the rookie has been making his presence felt in other ways.

For Allen, Coleman is developing a lot of trust with him after what he's been able to do on the football field over the last few months.

“He's a [got] unreal ability to go up and catch the ball at a high point,” Allen said of Coleman . “Very good ball skills, and it's fun to play with a guy like that, you can just kind of close your eyes and throw it and expect that he's either going to go up, and you saw it during the game, too I know he got undercut and pulled a little bit on an incut, but he did a good job of fighting through it and not letting the guy pick a ball off so that instills a lot of trust in quarterbacks.”

With a receiver-by-committee approach for the 2024 season, the trust that Allen is talking about will be crucial in determining how far the Bills can go in the playoff race.

Coleman is the centerpiece of the receiver room, but he has a bunch of veteran players to lean on, such as Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Khalil Shakir , and Chase Claypool.

But in truth, the Bills coaching staff will be hoping that Coleman separates himself early from that group and establishes himself as Allen's No. 1 weapon.

The trust has already been built, and now it's time to build on it in preparation for the regular season, as Allen will be looking Keon's way early and often in 2024.
