'Ask Me To Do More!' Steelers' Cory Trice Jr. Wants Versatility

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cory Trice Jr spent all of last season on the shelf with a torn ACL. Last year’s seventh-round draft pick has shined this offseason and into the preseason as he works his way back from injury.

His draft mate, Joey Porter Jr, burst onto the scene last year and became one of the top young talents in the league. Trice is trying to follow in his footsteps and earn a spot on this year’s defense.

"Whenever they ask me to do more, you know that's really a way for me showing them I can do more,” Trice said. “If they ask me to play a certain position, I'm going to do it. To show them I can continue to stay healthy."

The power of positivity is a real thing, especially in football. This game moves fast and there’s no time for negative thinking, or really time to think at all. You have to keep plugging away, play after play, and put your very best onto the field every time your cleats touch the grass.

At 6-3 and just over 200 pounds, Trice is a much bigger corner than the league average. If he can remain healthy and keep getting better every day, he has the opportunity to make an impact for the defense.

His outstanding preseason game against the Texans opened some eyes from coaches and fans alike, but that’s not hyping Trice up. He just wants to play, and it doesn’t matter where.

"Man, whatever they want me to show them, I'm showing them,” Trice concluded. “They got me on there, I'm playing it. Wherever they got me on the field, I want to play that."

We should see plenty of the former Boilermaker when the Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night.
