Ja'Marr Chase hasn't practiced at all during Cincinnati Bengals training camp.

The Pro Bowl wide receiver is considered "day-to-day" as he awaits a contract extension. The Bengals have exercised the fifth-year option for 2025 , but Chase is making it known that he wants this sorted out before risking injury or something unforeseeable. A reasonable move by the team's most dominant playmaker.

Fans, whether that's fantasy football or otherwise, don't have to panic just yet. It's only Week 2 of the preseason, and there's no real reason to suggest that the Bengals would fail to execute this task.

Chase skipped practice entirely on Tuesday, which perturbed the NFL community on social media. Bengals nation has actually gone as far as chanting for their star wideout to take the field.

The silver lining is that Chase's absence now could ensure he's fully healthy and ready to go by the Week 1 home matchup against the New England Patriots. The organization has stated previously that they would "bend over backwards" to grant Chase the contract he deserves. And head coach Zac Taylor feels optimistic about their recent communication.

The team extended Joe Burrow to a long-term deal in September 2023, running back Joe Mixon is now playing for the Houston Texans and WR2 Tee Higgins will at least be in Cincinnati until 2025.

That leaves more than enough incentive for the Bengals to secure a future with Chase.
