As the highly competitive AFC North gears up for another intense season, the Cleveland Browns have already started the rivalry off the field with a playful dig at the Cincinnati Bengals .

The Bengals recently unveiled their new alternate orange pants for the 2024 season, featuring the iconic Bengal stripe along the side. While the new look generated buzz among fans, it also caught the attention of the Browns’ social media team.

In a lighthearted response, the Browns took to social media to post a picture of star defensive end Myles Garrett celebrating a sack on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

The twist? Garrett was sporting the Browns’ orange pants, which bear a striking resemblance to the Bengals’ new design, and a caption that read, “Just thinking about our orange pants.” The post was a subtle yet effective jab, reminding fans of the on-field battles between these two AFC North rivals.

This playful banter is part of a growing trend in sports where teams use social media to engage in friendly rivalry, whether in the NFL , MLB , NBA , or college sports . While the exchanges are all in good fun, they add an extra layer of excitement to the already heated matchups.

Looking ahead, the Browns and Bengals are set to face off in Week 7 at Cleveland and again in Week 16 in Cincinnati. Both games are expected to be hard-fought battles as each team aims to climb to the top of the AFC North standings.

Last season, the two teams split their series, with the Bengals winning in Week 18 when the Browns rested their starters, having already secured a playoff spot.
