Since leaving Nike, Kyrie Irving's business acumen has reached new heights. In addition to earning the "Chief Creative Officer" position for ANTA and signing his father to a shoe deal, the Dallas Mavericks star’s media venture has picked up a new partner. Alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul, Irving co-owns Players TV.

According to Brandon Robinson of Scoopb.com, DirecTV is adding the player-owned network to its library of channels.

Players TV is the first network of its kind, as it's player-owned. It debuted last fall. The other partners of the player-owned network are Amazon Prime, YouTubeTV, Vizio, and Fubo.

As "the new media" of the Wild West of content evolves, it's important for players to tell their own stories. LeBron James understands the importance of owning your narrative, so he created Uninterrupted to give players such a platform.

Irving, a man of many truths, spoke of how imperative it is to create content for what you feel is right.

“As we develop more content, we develop more partnerships, I definitely see a bright future for us,” says Irving.“Being at Players TV gives me that option to be independent, and create content that really feels at home for me.”

Aside from the aforementioned co-owners, Carmelo Anthony, DeAndre Jordan, and CJ McCollum are also stakeholders.

Irving seeks additional on-court success as the Mavs made it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011. Unlike previous stints in Irving's career, his top in Dallas seems right at home for the Australian native.
