Last season, some of the best SEC games included the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide in the conference championship, Alabama vs. the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, the Iron Bowl, and Ole Miss Rebels vs. LSU. The last decade has also had plenty of exciting games.

Paul Finebaum named his pick for the best SEC game of the last decade on a recent episode of "The Paul Finebaum Show." There was a lot to pick from.

Finebaum ultimately went with the 2014 clash between Ole Miss and Alabama. The Rebels won in Oxford 23-17 after Alabama quarterback Blake Sims threw an interception in the back of the endzone.

Former Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace had 251 passing yards and three touchdowns in the game. Katy Perry was the celebrity guest picker on "College GameDay."

"...The best game happened early," Finebaum said. "It was 2014, in Oxford. Remember the whole Katy Perry thing? Hugh Freeze winning. His first big win over Nick Saban. He won the next year, too, but nothing will ever replace that moment at The Grove."

Much has changed since the 2014 season for both programs. Freeze is now with the Auburn Tigers and is entering into year two with the program. Alabama is now led by former Washington Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer following Nick Saban's retirement. Ole Miss' head coach is Lane Kiffin, who is entering year five with the Rebels.

Kiffin just led Ole Miss to its first 11-win season in program history. DeBoer brought Washington to the national championship last season.

Unfortunately, Alabama and Ole Miss do not play each other this season. However, there is plenty of top returning talent for both teams.

Ole Miss returns stars like QB Jaxson Dart, wide receiver Tre Harris, WR Jordan Watkins, and running back Ulysses Bentley IV. Alabama returns QB Jalen Milroe, offensive lineman Tyler Booker, defensive lineman Jaheim Oatis, and linebacker Deonte Lawson.

There is plenty to be excited about for both teams heading into the 2024 season.
