Alabama lost some significant talent in the transfer portal this offseason after Nick Saban retired and Kalen DeBoer took over. However, one big-time player who joined the team in the portal was former Miami, OH, kicker Graham Nicholson. He was named to ESPN's preseason All-American team.

Last year, Nicholson was the first MAC player to win the Lou Groza Award as the best kicker in the country. He was highly sought after in the offseason and is one of two kickers coming back from a season in which they attempted at least 20 field goals and made them at a rate of 95% or better.

Nicolson made "27 of his 28 field goal attempts, hitting 10 from 40-plus yards," ESPN Senior Writer Chris Low writes. "He has made 60 field goals during his career, and as a seasoned senior with great range and accuracy, Nicholson makes an already strong Alabama special teams unit that much stronger."

Expect another strong season for Nicholson after he was named to the Lou Groza Award preseason watch list, and Alabama should have one of the best special teams units in the country.
