At this point, it's hard to deny that the Indiana Fever are on the rise. After a slow start to the season, Caitlin Clark and Co. are now sitting on an 11-15 record, which has them ranked seventh in the WNBA. If the playoffs started today, the Fever would be one of the eight teams that would qualify for a postseason berth.

Clark has without a doubt been the driving force for Indiana this season. She's taken the league by storm in her debut season, and with eye-popping averages of 17.1 points , 2.7 triples, 5.8 rebounds, a league-high 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, she is considered by many as the favorite to bag the coveted Rookie of the Year title.

At the same time, it goes without saying that Clark has had a lot of help along the way. Among others, two-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell has been a pivotal figure for the Fever in the first half of the season.

Mitchell, however, has turned heads because of a recent interview wherein more than a few fans suspect that the 5-foot-8 guard has hinted at her looming Indiana exit.

“I guess, I was excited," Mitchell said about the news that Indianapolis will host the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, via Fever beat reporter Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints. "Obviously, I’ve been in Indy for the last years of my life. But I’m excited that Indy gets a chance to host it. Shoutout to Indy for that, I’m excited for them.”

That's not exactly a hyped reaction from Mitchell, who incidentally, is going to be a free agent this offseason.

This is exactly why some fans believe that the former Ohio State standout has hinted at the possibility of her imminent departure.

"She’s tired of losing, can’t blame her if she wants to weigh better options," read a comment.

“'Im excited for THEM'🤔" reacted a fan.

"Weird response. She saying she out next season?" asked a supporter.

"I'd hate to see her go but the Fever could use that cap space and build around [Clark] and [Aliyah Boston] with 2 way role players," surmised another.

"she can go if she doesn’t want to be there.. only 2 players guaranteed to be on the team long term if we being honest," read a comment.

"She is tired of the Charkies and wants out immediately!!!!!!!! KM will be traded before the deadline this year," predicted a fan.

Over the season, Mitchell has produced averages of 16.9 points , 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, while also knocking down 2.3 triples per game on a 36.8-percent clip.

Whether or not she ends up taking those numbers elsewhere is anybody's guess at this point.
