Rookie receiver Ainias Smith has been under fire for drops all summer long. Coaches have been working with the fifth-round pick on technique and using his hands to pull in the ball.

On Thursday night, he did just that with the game on the line, and the NFL posted an amazing video of the conversion that is “in your face.”

Late in the fourth quarter, the Eagles trailed by a touchdown. Quarterback Tanner McKee promptly led Philadelphia on a seven-play, 70-yard drive capped off by a Kendall Milton 1-yard touchdown run to pull within one point of the lead.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni decided to go for two and the win. With McKee in the shotgun, Smith came in motion from the left side across the formation sprinting to the pylon as soon as the ball was snapped. McKee put the ball right on him and the former Aggie hauled in the pass while also taking a shot from a Patriots defender.

Smith held onto the ball as he fell across the goal line for the 2-point conversion and a 14-13 lead that the defense held up by recovering a fumble on the Patriots ensuing drive to end the game.

The Eagles wrap up their preseason schedule next week as they host the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday.
