Anthony Edwards Hits Kevin Durant With Savage Trolling Over Playoff Battle

Anthony Edwards loves himself some Kevin Durant. If it wasn't clear after his Minnesota Timberwolves' playoff battle against Durant's Phoenix Suns, it became clear during their Team USA run. Edwards' admiration for Durant was on full display during their legendary run in the Olympics.

During a recent media appearance, Edwards ribbed at Durant. The Timberwolves star was asked by Jalen Rose about how he felt during their sweep of the Suns. After a hearty laugh, Edwards answered honestly.

"I'm not gonna lie I felt bad a little bit, only because he's my favorite player of all time," Edwards admitted. "I didn't wanna send him home like that."

Durant and Edwards faced each other in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs. That series was a star-making performance for Edwards, as he led the Timberwolves to a sweep of the Suns. Ant went toe-to-toe with KD in the series, with Edwards averaging 31 points per game to Durant's 26.8.

Edwards, the former first-overall pick, then teamed up with his idol in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The duo mostly played off the bench, much to the delight of the former.

Their combined efforts led to Team USA's fifth straight gold and KD's record-breaking fourth Olympic gold medal. Edwards featured prominently in the campaign as well.

Edwards and Durant will have plenty of opportunities to face each other next season. They have four games against each other, with the first coming in November on the Timberwolves' home turf.
