Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky traveled to the desert to play against veterans Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury.

While Reese had a tremendous showing, the Sky picked up a brutal 86-68 loss.

Following the matchup, Reese was seen clapping up Griner and Taurasi. She had a quick exchange with Griner, but the rookie spent time talking to Taurasi, a player who many view as the greatest women's basketball player of all time.

Reese has been vocal about the positive treatment she's received from WNBA veterans all season, and that was clearly shown in her meeting with Taurasi and Griner after the game.

Reese finished the matchup with 19 points and 20 rebounds, shooting a solid 50% from the field.

She played an incredible game, but the Mercury were led by 42-year-old Diana Taurasi, who turned back the clock and had a vintage performance in the Phoenix victory.

Taurasi finished the game with a team-high 23 points while adding five assists and three rebounds.

Reese has been a generational rookie for the Sky. She's started every game for Chicago this season, serving as the team's most consistent weapon on both ends of the floor.

Prior to the matchup against Phoenix, Angel Reese was averaging 13.4 points and 12.0 rebounds.
