The Texas A&M Aggies have been hard after the pursuit of an elite five-star offensive tackle from in-state, but as things look right now just one day ahead of his commitment, he will go elsewhere.
Lewisville superstar Michael Fasusi is the No. 12 ranked overall player in the nation as well as a top-three tackle and top-five player in the state of Texas according to On3 . In July, Fasusi announced that Texas A&M had made his final list of schools along with Texas , Oklahoma , Oregon , and Missouri ahead of his August 21 commitment day . A day before he announces his decision, Fasusi has received crystal balls from most every recruiting expert forecasting him to Norman to be an Oklahoma Sooner. The Aggies and Texas trail at right around even chances after Oklahoma's 70 percent chance of landing the tackle, according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine .
Here's what Gabe Brooks of 247 had to say about Fasusi in his official scouting report.
"Gifted O-lineman with true book-end tackle potential. Possesses excellent physical tools and promising athletic context in track and field and combine testing categories. Legitimately 6-foot-5 with long arms and a big reach. Wears mass well and owns space to add more bulk. Multi-sport athlete with 50+ shot put and 150+ discus prowess," Brooks wrote. "Grew up playing soccer and is young for the 2025 cycle. Similarly explosive metrics in vertical and broad jump relative to OT projection. Shows foot quickness and agility to live on an island in pass protection. Nimbleness translates to movement ability in the run game. Flashes some punch power that should become more consistent with continued development."
While it appears that the Aggies will miss out on this one, anything can happen and no decision is final until signing day. But A&M fans for now appear set to be disappointed when tomorrow rolls around.
