    James Wiseman Wins Offseason Championship

After getting dumped by the Detroit Pistons, James Wiseman needed to do some soul-searching during the offseason. Wiseman's transition from winning an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors to not earning a multi-year contract with the Detroit Pistons stings. However, the Indiana Pacers provided the 2020 No. 2 pick with a chance for redemption.

The backup Pacers center laced up his sneakers this summer to win another championship.

Wiseman participated in the Miami Pro League during the summer of 2024. Instead of settling as the backup Pacerd center, Wiseman released his potential on the team DREAM . The Pacers center dominated for 34 points on 14-19 shooting from the field and 17 rebounds to help clinch the Miami Pro League championship.

Former Denver Nuggets wing Will Barton won the MPL Finals MVP. He scored 36 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists.

Wiseman is a rebounding machine with bright moments in the post, but the Pacers' second-ranked offensive rating will test his offensive versatility. However, a typical post-up offense won't cut it, especially with Rick Carlisle as the head coach. Look no further than Kristaps Porzingis' time with the Dallas Mavericks.

However, in fairness to Carlisle, Porzingis suffered with Dallas as a post-up player.

Perhaps Wiseman will receive more opportunities in the second unit against lesser bigs. Per Synergy Sports, Wiseman ranked in the 79 percentile for points per possession, which landed him with a "very good" points per possession rating.

Wiseman has the size and track record of producing a traditional big-man offense in his time with the Pistons. However, how will such an offense translate with a winning franchise in the Pacers? The Pacers lack in frontcourt depth, which gives Wiseman a chance to showcase his on-court worth to Carlisle.
