The 2023-24 season for the Miami Hurricanes basketball team was one to put in the past, as ESPN's Joe Lunardi believes they'll find their way back in the tournament in 2025.

ESPN and Lunardi released their updated 2025 NCAA Tournament Bracketology this morning, with Miami being featured as one of the six ACC teams to make the field. The other ACC teams to be featured included Duke (one seed), North Carolina (two seed), Clemson (eight seed), Wake Forest (nine seed), and Pittsburgh (11 seed). Louisville was listed among the first four out.

Listed as a ten seed in the Midwest bracket, the Hurricanes' hypothetical matchup would be against the seven seed Illinois Fighting Illini. The Hurricanes have been a ten seed just once across their 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, where they made it to the Elite Eight in 2021-22.

While that Elite Eight run finished just over two years ago, nobody from that roster is still on the team today. The longest tenured member of the team is now Nijel Pack , who transferred over from Kansas State in 2022.

In order to get back to the NCAA Tournament, Miami will need to rely on an almost completely different roster to do so. The Hurricanes return just three players from their team last season, who combined contributed 29.4 points per game.

Miami retooled their roster by adding six transfers and a top-rated recruiting class headlined by five-star guard Jalil Bethea . While they did lose key pieces such as Norchad Omier , Wooga Poplar and Kyshawn George , the Hurricanes' transfer additions addressed their lack of depth that should help them bounce back in the ACC.

Jim Larrañaga and his squad will start their 2024-25 regular season on November 4th as they welcome Fairleigh Dickinson to the Watsco Center.
